Winter Community of Practice: Storytelling for Impact & Transformation

Join us on Thursday, March 13th, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM for our next Nourish & Thrive Community of Practice session – Storytelling for Impact & Transformation.

In a shifting political and funding landscape, clearly communicating the value and impact of our work is as important as ever. Too often, we are asked to reduce the depth of our work into attendance metrics —— reducing the diverse, complex experiences of individuals and families to simple statistics. While data is important and certainly has its place, collaborative storytelling can breathe meaning into our work and help shape compelling narratives that honour the dignity, autonomy, and strength of our communities.

In this session, we’ll discuss:

  • Ethical, collaborative approaches to sharing community impact
  • How we might leverage storytelling to support reporting & fundraising efforts
  • Storytelling as a vehicle to move beyond narratives of “helping the less fortunate” & create space for imagining new possibilities & collective transformation

We invite anyone involved in impact reporting, data collection, and funding efforts to join the conversation. A few short materials will be shared in advance, and we encourage participants to bring their own experiences, questions, and examples. While we won’t have all the answers, gathering is a powerful antidote to despair and our discussions can help surface resources, spark new strategies, and inform future workshop offerings.

Let’s reimagine how we share our work—together. Register now and help shape the conversation!
