Thank You for Launching the Funding & Wages Action Network with Us

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the recent launch of our new Funding & Wages Action Network (FWAN) on April 29th. In our concise yet impactful session, we explored shared challenges, identified common priorities, and began building momentum toward coordinated collective action across the sector.
Some of the key themes raised included:
- Funding instability & inconsistent communication from government funders
- The growing gap between rising service demands & stagnant contracts
- Wage disparities that threaten staff retention & well-being
- Frustration with the unsustainable expectation of doing more with less — compounded by concerns around potential future cuts, increasing demands on FRPs & perceived competition with other EY sectors
- A lack of recognition for the preventative impact & distinct role of FRPs within the broader early years landscape
Whether or not you were able to attend the launch, it’s not too late to get involved. This network is just getting started, and diverse engagement is crucial as we move forward to refine priorities, create useful tools, define coordinated actions, and explore meaningful ways to stay connected across the province.
This work is grounded in the challenges our sector is facing — and the power we have when we come together to make change.
