Strengthening Our Sector and Collective Voice through FWAN

Thank you to all members who joined our most recent Funding & Wages Action Network (FWAN) meeting on June 19th! This session focused on developing core shared messaging around the role, uniqueness and key impacts of Family Resource Programs (FRPs) within the early years sector.
Together, we explored key questions about how we describe FRPs, what makes them unique, and how we communicate their value. Members emphasized the importance of FRPs as low-barrier, strengths-based, community-responsive and preventative programs that support whole families and act as vital access points to broader supports and pathways of care.
We’re now compiling shared insights and resources into a draft collective communications document and welcome any additional tools, research, or messaging you’d like to contribute. Please send them our way!
We intend for this resource to support broader advocacy efforts, like pushing for increased funding and wage equity, by giving us stronger, more aligned language to describe FRPs and our impacts.
Ongoing sector coordination through FWAN is key to building positive pressure for long-overdue change. Register for the upcoming FWAN meeting dates listed here at the link below.
- Thursday, August 7, 12–1 PM
- Thursday, September 11, 12–1 PM
- Thursday, October 9, 12–1 PM
New members are still welcome as we continue to shape this ongoing, collective work. Thank you for being in it with us.
