Become a Member

Our membership year begins April 1st and runs until March 31st of the following year. Registration for the 2023/2024 membership year will open March 6, 2023.

Important Information

In order to reflect a more equitable system, FRP-BC has different membership types depending on the size of your Family Resource Program (FRP). These include three ‘levels’ for FRP Members, each with a corresponding increase in membership fees. Smaller FRPs will pay a smaller membership fee compared to larger FRPs, and will still be able to access all training, resources, and connections. Once an agency has purchased a yearly FRP-BC Membership, any or all staff can enjoy access to member benefits. We also have a membership option specifically for non-FRP organizations and individuals. Please see below for a breakdown of each membership type to decide which would be appropriate for your agency.

Do you already know which membership type applies to you and are ready to register? Access the registration form here.

FRP Members

FRP Members include agencies and organizations that operate an FRP. FRPs are parent/child interactive centres for families with children 0–6 years. The programs reflect the diversity of the community, and services are designed to strengthen parenting skills, provide stimulating environments for children, and promote family and community engagement. FRPs engage with families through five core areas of service:

  1. Family Support
  2. Play-based Learning
  3. Early Learning and Literacy
  4. Parent Education
  5. Information and Referrals

FRPs are based out of local community centres, rec centres, or neighbourhood houses, or operate as a stand-alone service. FRPs go by a variety of names, including but not limited to Family Place, Family Centre, Military Family Resource Centre, Early Years Centre, Parent/Family Literacy Centre, and Aboriginal Friendship Centre.

To become an FRP Member, you will be asked to self-identify which of the following levels your FRP fits the profile of according to the following criteria:

LevelBased on FTEBased on # of families servedBased on # of hrs/week of staff time available for FRP Administration
