Holding the Wage Gap: A Community of Practice for EDs and Managers

Join us on Thursday, July 10th, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM for our next Nourish & Thrive – Holding the Wage Gap: A Community of Practice for EDs & Managers
Wage inequity is not just a line item—it’s a daily reality shaping the sustainability of our work, the wellbeing of our staff, and our ability to meet families’ needs in our communities.
In alignment with member feedback through our 2024 Wages & Funding Survey and Shareback Report alongside our over 35 recent one-on-one member check-ins, our next seasonal Nourish & Thrive Community of Practice, will focus on how FRPs across the province are navigating the ongoing challenges of wage inequity across community early years settings.
This peer-focused session is a space for Executive Directors, program managers, and other leadership staff to connect around the persistent and complex challenges of compensation in early years community settings.
Together, we’ll hold space to:
- Share experiences, strategies & frustrations
- Reflect on approaches to recruitment, retention, and staff wellbeing
- Explore emergent questions (e.g. What does equity look like in a sector with wide role and qualification diversity?)
- Surface opportunities for further connection and resource sharing
This conversation is rooted in sector feedback and is happening in parallel with the Funding & Wage Action Network, which continues to focus on collective advocacy. The Community of practice offers a space to pause, listen, and learn—and may surface opportunities for future collaboration, resource sharing, and/or resource development.
A few short materials will be shared in advance, and you’re encouraged to bring our own questions, experiences, and ideas.
The strength of this work is in our collective wisdom. Let’s build change together. Register now and be part of the conversation!
