FRP-BC’s Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In light of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Canada, family resource programs (FRPs) play an important role in ensuring the health and safety of the community.

As of now, FRP-BC recommends that all FRPs abide by the advice and recommendations made by local health authorities and local school districts.

Please continue monitoring the situation and adjust accordingly as new information emerges. If you’re unsure, follow the lead of your municipal parks and recreation centres.

This would be a good time to create or review your unexpected closures policy and pandemic continuity plan. Early next week, FRP-BC will post an example pandemic continuity plan in the Members Only Portal for members’ reference.

In the meantime, take all necessary measures and precautions recommended by professionals to reduce the risk of transmission.

For updated information regarding the situation in British Columbia, please refer to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s website.

Best wishes,
