Changes to the Standards of Practice

Over the past few months, FRP-BC and Families Canada have engaged in a thoughtful and consultative process to nationalize the Standards of Practice. As many of you know, FRP-BC underwent a thorough process five years ago with the help of Vantage Point, member feedback, and a dedicated committee. During that time, we also gave our website a new look & layout and introduced a dynamic online portal, allowing members to easily submit documents, make the most of flexible timeframes, and involve as many staff members as they wish.
After five years of administering the Standards of Practice, we’ve concluded that transitioning to a national framework will better serve our members. We are now working closely with Families Canada to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. I’m pleased to share that we are at the stage where the Standards will soon be in the capable hands of Families Canada.
The online training will also be transferred to Families Canada’s platform, with updates to reflect a national context and enhance accessibility.
Members who have already begun the process of working through the Standards of Practice will have the opportunity to consult with our Advisory Committee to ensure that any completed work is carried forward smoothly.
