Continuum of Service Award
Family Resource Program is attached to an agency that provides multiple services to families in the community and the FRP is one of many programs delivered, you are a multi-service Family Resource Program – this stream is for you!  Examples of multi-service FRPs are Neighbourhood Houses, Boys & Girls Clubs, Aboriginal Friendship Centres, etc.

WINNER!    Chilliwack Community Services

For over 80 years, Chilliwack Community Services has been dedicated to meeting social and community needs in Chilliwack and the surrounding areas. What began in 1928 with the efforts of a single woman helping a neighbour in need has continually grown to meet the increasing and changing demographics of the the community.

Today, Chilliwack Community Services provides extensive social and human services that help to create opportunities with people to make positive change in their lives. there is no cost for service unless specifically noted. Commitment to Quality Award
Family Resource Program is not part of a larger agency and your Family Resource Program is the core service provided to your community, you are a stand-alone Family Resource Program – this stream is for you!  Examples of a stand-alone Family Resource Program are the Family Places found in the Vancouver Lower-mainland.

WINNER!    New Westminster Family Place Society

New Westminster Family Place (NWFP) was opened in 1989 after three years of planning and fundraising with the help of the Public Health Unit and the Interagency Committee.

NWFP is a family resource program for families with children from newborn to five years old. This service was seen as necessary to the community, providing support and prevention services to isolated families with young children.

Mandate: "to promote, encourage and provide family related services and learning skills programs with a preventative and educational focus aimed at low income individuals."



Distinguished Service Awards

Annual awards for Family Resource Programs (FRPs) who are current members of the BC Association of Family Resource Programs (FRP-BC) and whose work has demonstrated adherence to Valued Practices in the administration and operation of the Family Resource Program.  Five service areas identify the Family Resource Program with the defining factor being the open access drop-in open to all families in the community with children aged 0-6.

There are two awards, Continuum of Service and Commitment to Quality.  Each winner is awarded with $1,000, a framed certificate, one-year free membership and are featured on our website.
